There are two questions today. First, we’ll talk about whether or not you have to collect sales tax on digital products. Then we’ll talk about five different methods you can use to make money on the Internet.

Question #1: When offering digital products in a shopping cart are you required to charge tax on that product? If so where can you go to determine that correct tax rate for your state and your product?

Answer: I am not a tax attorney or CPA. From my understanding, each state is different. In my state we are not required to charge taxes for digital products that anybody out of our state orders. Again, talk to your local CPA, accountant, or tax attorney.

Also don’t ask an Internet marketer in your state. Why? They may be dealing with the sales tax situation incorrectly. For example, today I sent out 78 affiliate checks that were worth over $100,000. I couldn’t believe that so many of the affiliates, even big Internet marketers, didn’t have their business set up as a corporation. This is an example of top Internet marketers doing part of their business incorrectly. So be wary of following their examples on legal and tax issues.

If you don’t set up your business properly you can run into problems. For example, you may have to pay way too many taxes. So also consult your CPA or accountant to find out the best way to structure your business.

Question #2: What is the quickest and easiest way to make money on the Internet?

Answer: It depends. This is a general question, but here are different ways to make money online.

Money Method #1: If I had a list then the quickest and easiest way to make money would be to send out an email offer to my list. However, if I didn’t have a list then you would create a product, sales letter, and people that could send the sales letter to their list.

Money Method #2: If you have traffic then put AdSense on your page. However, if you don’t have traffic coming to your website then find joint venture traffic.

Money Method #3: If you have an ezine or newsletter that you have subscribers to then send them to a page that has AdSense on it.

Money Method #4: If you have a product then you have to get traffic to that product.

Money Method #5: If you have a list then you have to find a joint venture partner or affiliate program that has a sales letter and product you can promote.
